George Norval

Senior Pensions Executive

George has over two decades of experience in international pensions & benefits, general insurance and finance.

During George’s eleven-year tenure as the Group Pensions and Insurance Manager for Berendsen plc (now Elis UK following acquisition by Elis SA) he managed DB assets worth £500m and DC assets worth £100m and was Chair to the Trustees of the Irish DB Pensions Scheme and Chair of the DC Governance committee.

Over the years George has held various Senior Pensions roles at some of the  largest Corporates in the UK including Kingfisher Plc, NM Rothschild & Sons and The Grosvenor Group.

George’s expertise lies in developing, implementing and communicating strategies for large organisations with complex needs and multiple stakeholders. He has a strong track record in leading and delivering change, particularly in the areas of design and implementation of new and enhanced Pension systems.  Due to his vast experience of dealing with direct reports, advisors and stakeholders alike, George has strong people management skills and is well versed in building good relationships with Peers. He is vastly experienced in the integration of pension and benefit arrangements, risk management within pension plans, astute technical support for trustees and leadership experience on M&A pension issues.

George hails from Cape Town, South Africa and has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science. Outside of Pensions, he has a palpable passion for Health and Fitness, Fine Wine and French Food!
