Mark Ashworth

Mark Ashworth has been working as a professional trustee with Law Debenture since 2001 and currently chairs LawDeb’s pensions practice. Prior to LawDeb Mark was Head of Pensions at NatWest, after various legal and company secretarial roles within the NatWest Group. Mark is an economist and barrister by training.

Mark has a wide experience of pension schemes, both DC and DB, and [representing LawDeb] chairs a number of trustee boards or committees, including for the BP, GSK, Lloyds Bank and Sainsbury’s schemes. Mark also chairs the governance committee for a large contract-based scheme and serves on Legal & General’s Governance Committee.

Mark’s aim, and main professional reward, is to help each group of trustees find the best way to serve their scheme members – getting to a better answer than any one individual could. And for this to be enjoyable!

Mark also chairs Law Debenture’s pensions team, where his aim is the same.
